Depression is certainly hell, but I'm not getting this one.
I would have thought the tortured souls would be asking Fuschia to take them with her, or to leave the paintings where they could see them (just as they asked for more stories in past strips). The damned torturing the demon seems seriously out of whack.
(Even if Fuschia is out of whack as a demon.)

I guess the point is damned people gonna want you to stay with them. Yknow, they'll put you down so you can please them, they dont want to and can't leave their damned situation. I guess the metaphore translated well.
