Not sure what to make of this one.

Interesting, just like Demonique now helps Nique fight the patriarchy by lashing out at hecklers, Weresquig now helps Squig fight the patriarchy by scaring off Johnbies.

There seems to be a recurring theme that the key to becoming a better person is not to try to lock away your dark side but rather to find a way to do good with it.

Makes me wonder if that applies to Slick and Sleaze. Even if Slick were to do a LOT of growing up I just can't imagine how Sleaze could be channeled towards fighting the patriarchy.

Only thing that is weird to me is that a few strips before, Weresquig wanted to keep the porn. So he is not really fighting the patriarchy, right?
Maybe the demon forms are just the parts of the characters that are unbound from ethical or civilized norms or stuff like that?
So, Weresquig wants to keep the porn to himself and thats why he scared the Johnbies?

Welcome! Yeah, that's how I see it. Squig's demon form isn't fighting the patriarchy on purpose, it just so happens his possessiveness towards his porn was a useful trait to draw on at that specific moment. Maybe someday the 2 will actually be in sync like Nique and Demonique have become, but there's still a loooong way to go before that.

I had completely forgotten about Devil 'Nique. Thematically, it does make sense; acceptance of one's flaws and otherwise less-desirable qualities, while being willing to make a change in spite of them.

Admittedly, the part where Dev-Squig tries to save the porn just a few strips back threw me off.
