Awh, Squiggy. He needs to keep on doing something productive. Getting rid of his porn was a good start, and helpful to him, but he needs to keep going. Help people, and help people, and if he can't forgive himself, then at least get past it.
I feel for him, though.
Squiggy's Self Absorbed Regret
Yeah, definetly need to get his bum outta the couch and do something about his life.
Call me Celina. This forum still have a long way to go until it gets filled with its intended public. And I'll do my best to help us reach that goal. I'm a battleaxe, and when you hear my voice it'll be as loud as a thunder and as clear as a blue sky.
Gonna be honest, and this is just my opinion so feel free to ignore or discard it, but it feels like you guys are sympathizing with the wrong character.
Squigley does not deserve your compassion or sympathy. His victims do. Like Slick, dude has spent his entire existence exploiting, demeaning, objectifying, and abusing women.
Now him finally being called out and confronted for his ways is a good thing, and may lead to development that may allow him to become a somewhat kinda decent person, but finding out that you're a complete asshole...doesn't make you less of an asshole.

The problem with that is Tats story telling.Squigley does not deserve your compassion or sympathy. His victims do.
I agree, the victims deserve more sympathy. But this thread focuses on what the comic is focusing on. Despite continuously making the point, that 90% of the men in this world are not worth paying attention to, the comic insists on mostly paying attention to them and how their actions betray their hidden Zombie-nature. There are a dozen or so female characters with varying degrees of fleshed out backstories waiting for some further exploration, but mostly we don't get to what they do and experience.
To me it feels like the comic currently makes faceless men the primary actor and shows us how they fuck up everything all the time. Instead I'd prefer it if it showed us the lifes of the female characters we are supposed to care about and occasionally show us how the Zombies are an obstacle to that.
That squigly gets some attention to me seems more like an extension of this fixation on the badness of male characters.
I fully agree with you oO and I don't think the problem is the writing either, adressing Ruby's comment up there, Idk where people are getting the idea that we should feel sorry for the pig. He's turning into a.... normal guy? That's good, but I wouldn't focues on that if I'm reading thw webcomic and I don't advise anyone else do, but hey, we are free to think whatever we want.Oldone wrote:Gonna be honest, and this is just my opinion so feel free to ignore or discard it, but it feels like you guys are sympathizing with the wrong character.
